Greg Donaldson

Some not-too-gentle persuasion by his family and best friend saw Greg Donaldson launch himself on to the real estate stage in Kalgoorlie in 1997. "My best friend owned Kalgoorlie's most successful real estate agency, and kept pestering me to come on board as a rep. At the time I was working as a coach driver and tour guide, so thought, 'why not give it a go.'" And what a go he gave it. Within two years Greg was awarded Ausnet's Top Salesperson Award, and regularly held positions in the Top 5 each quarter. In 1999, The Donaldson family moved to Perth, and Greg took a breather from real estate for 12 months. But it wasn't long before the pressure was back on, this time from the Executive Director of Ausnet. "He kept telling me that I should go and have a chat with Andy Brown from Brown Murray. Of course, I was familiar with Brown Murray because my old agency was always competing with them for the Ausnet awards." The rest, as they say, is history. Greg did have a chat with Andy, and five years later is still going strong with Brown Murray. Greg says his ability to build a good rapport with clients is a key to his success. "I don't pressure anyone. Having had my own business for 20 years, I know how to negotiate and communicate with all types of people." It's that experience that keeps clients coming back. Greg admits to being a loyal Docker's supporter, and attends Perth matches whenever he can. His three children and five grandchildren keep him busy, as do regular holidays with his wife of 33 years.
